Day 1: Arrival in Kigali.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by AG Safaris’ representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy a city tour which includes visiting the Genocide Memorial Center, the craft markets and other interesting sites. Overnight stay in Kigali.
Day 2: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for a domestic flight to Ruhengeri town, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. You will be met by AG Safaris’ representative and taken to your lodge. In the afternoon, you can opt for a nature walk or visit a nearby village. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You will then embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of tracking the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek can take anywhere between 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking.
Today you will have another exciting activity, Golden Monkey Trekking. These playful primates are a delight to watch and you will have an opportunity to get up close with them. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera or take a cultural tour. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 5: Departure.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Kigali. You can opt for a city tour or shopping before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight. End of your AG Safaris’ 5-day flying Rwanda safari.
