Day 1: Kigali to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
On the first day of your tour, our experienced tour guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. We will then drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, located in the southwestern part of Rwanda. The journey to the park takes around 6 hours, passing through scenic hills, farmland, and small towns. After arriving at the park, you will check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest.
On the second day of your tour, we will wake up early and enjoy breakfast before starting our chimpanzee trekking adventure in Nyungwe Forest. Nyungwe Forest is home to over 500 chimpanzees, making it one of the best places in Africa to see these amazing primates in their natural habitat. During the trek, you will also have the chance to spot other primates such as colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Our experienced guides will lead you through the forest, sharing their knowledge about the park’s flora and fauna. After the trek, we will return to the lodge for lunch and then have an afternoon guided walk to the Kamiranzovu waterfall, which is a great opportunity for photography and birding.
Day 3: Nyungwe Forest to Kigali.
On the last day of your tour, we will have breakfast at the lodge before driving back to Kigali. Along the way, we will make a stop at the Murambi Genocide Memorial site to learn about the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. We will then proceed to Kigali, where we will have lunch before dropping you off at Kigali International Airport or your hotel.
